Magnesium for Sleeping
12 Mg 24.305

The form on the label matters more than the number on the front.

Most magnesium supplements sold for sleep are the same mineral in different packaging. The packaging is the part that decides whether you absorb it, whether it upsets your stomach, and whether it does anything at all.

This site compares the forms honestly, including where the evidence is thinner than the marketing.

Elemental magnesium by form (approximate)

Oxide ~60%
Citrate ~16%
Glycinate ~14%
Chloride ~12%
L-threonate ~8%

The longest bar is the worst performer. Magnesium oxide carries the most elemental magnesium per gram and is also the one your body absorbs least well. Elemental content and absorption are two different questions, and the label only tells you about the first.
